Food Storage Favorites Night

Thursday, January 14th at 6:30 we are having our first Relief Society Activity for 2010! We hope you will join us at our Food Storage Favorites Night. Please bring a dish made from your food storage ingredients to share (or ingredients that could be in a food storage). Also, bring 1 copy of your recipe for those who would like their own copies of it! I know what you make will be wonderful! For those of us that are a little delayed in keeping and using a great food storage I've got some sources for you! I checked these websites and they seemed to have some great ideas, some easy and delicious options! It made me hungry just looking at all the delicious potential food storage recipes! Here they are:

Happy Cooking! We hope you can make it to the activity!

Stake Relief Society Temple Information

Stake Relief Society temple sessions for 2010 will be on the first Wednesday of each month at 9:30 a.m. and on the third Saturday of each month at 7:00 a.m. The Saturday sessions are new for 2010; hopefully some of you who aren't able to attend on weekdays will find this more convenient.

Also, the temple baptistry has started a new open baptistry program from 4:00-5:00 p.m. Tuesdays-Fridays to serve individuals and families.

January 14 Relief Society Activity

On Thursday, January 14, we will be having a potluck dinner at the church at 7:00. Make something that uses some of your food storage items and get new ideas for easy and tasty meals that use stored goods. Please bring one copy of your recipe, and we will post all of the food storage recipes on our blog. Thank you to Marah Cluff for this idea!

Barbara Hovorka's Family History Classes

Kathryn Owen has been attending Barbara Hovorka's Family History classes on the first and second Thursdays of every month. Kathryn wrote:

I want to emphasize that Barbara Kovorka's classes are professional, in depth, and highly worth attending. I feel like I'm taking a college class (without the exams!). Even if you are not at present doing family history work, go to these classes.

All classes are at 7:00 p.m. at the 206th buildling (848 SW 206th Ave., Aloha). Kathryn would like to carpool!

Cedar Mill Stake Family History Center

Great News - For our Cedar Mill Stake Family History Center!

We hope that some of you, who are not yet involved with the family history center, will step forward to help staff the library so that we can stay open for longer hours.

Brother Tom Fletcher

Email from President Donald G. Bair:

Brethren and Sisters,

Our CMS FHC has been approved for being an official Family History Center. I have notified Walt Carter and Tom Fletcher.

This is great news as it allows us access to free software among other advantages. Brother Russell in SLC complimented our stake on the great amount of work that is being done. I am convinced that this volume of work has won us this designation. My compliments to all who have made this possible.
