Barbara Hovorka's Family History Classes

Kathryn Owen has been attending Barbara Hovorka's Family History classes on the first and second Thursdays of every month. Kathryn wrote:

I want to emphasize that Barbara Kovorka's classes are professional, in depth, and highly worth attending. I feel like I'm taking a college class (without the exams!). Even if you are not at present doing family history work, go to these classes.

All classes are at 7:00 p.m. at the 206th buildling (848 SW 206th Ave., Aloha). Kathryn would like to carpool!

Cedar Mill Stake Family History Center

Great News - For our Cedar Mill Stake Family History Center!

We hope that some of you, who are not yet involved with the family history center, will step forward to help staff the library so that we can stay open for longer hours.

Brother Tom Fletcher

Email from President Donald G. Bair:

Brethren and Sisters,

Our CMS FHC has been approved for being an official Family History Center. I have notified Walt Carter and Tom Fletcher.

This is great news as it allows us access to free software among other advantages. Brother Russell in SLC complimented our stake on the great amount of work that is being done. I am convinced that this volume of work has won us this designation. My compliments to all who have made this possible.

President Bair

2010 Stake Relief Society Women's Conference

STOCKING UP!

2010 Stake Relief Society Women's Conference
Friday, February 5, 2010
7pm
Stake Center
Refreshments following presentation

The past few years have been witness to earthquakes, hurricanes,
and severe financial crises.
In today's world of natural disasters and economic uncertainty,
food storage can be a source of comfort and security.
Even though we've had this wise counsel to store extra food,
do you have a good food storage plan and system in place?
Does the whole "Food Storage" thing seem overwhelming?
Need some help?
Want a new approach, or some fresh, new ideas?
THAT'S WHAT WE HAVE TO OFFER!
Our guest speaker will be WENDY DEWITT, FOOD STORAGE SPECIALIST, talking about her unique food storage system.
Her system has gotten lots of attention.
She's even featured on BYUTV's Living Essentials series!
Please come find out why so many are excited about WENDY'S approach to STOCKING UP!

From your Stake Relief Society Presidency
Jeanne Hansen, President
Cecily Kiester, 1st Counselor
Leigh Anne Wilkes, 2nd Counselor
Tricia Jensen, Secretary

P.S. We'd heard about 'Food Storage' for years, but what about your neighbors and friends?
Why not see if they would like to learn more about 'stocking up' with this exciting, new system!

Relief Society Christmas Service Exchange

Thursday Dec 3 7:00-9:00PM at the WU Bldg.

We'll have a speaker, a musical number and some good food.
Please bring a "white elephant" style service you can give -- it could be written on a notecard, or be the actual item -- wrap it or place it in a gift bag, and we'll exchange them that night (of course there could be trades and steals to add to the fun!)

Please let Lacie Banton or a member of the RS presidency know if you will need childcare that evening.

Invite a friend!
